When we think of toile de Jouy, we see 17th century pastoral scenes, picnic, horse and carriages and other lovely human scenes. We don’t conjure up images of a sloth riding a carp. Well, we didn’t until I commissioned Megan Hindley, aka Stedhead Art, to design for us.
Megan is one of five British artists that has collaborated with Cocoon Home to create fresh new textiles for the interiors market (read more about her here). The first brief I gave her was to “design a toile de Jouy but not as we know it”. And, hell, she delivered.
Cocoon Home was set up to bring traditional fabrics with a twist to the market. So, if you love our High Life fabric in burgundy and taupe, but are unsure how to style it, here are two mood board suggestions to get your creative juices flowing.
